Another amazing fashion obsessed New Yorker joined us!  This time Erica LeBow was awesome enough to answer some of our questions!  Erica’s site and Instagram capture her sense of style and beauty perfectly!  They’re always worth a read – make sure to check them out!

What inspired you to start Elleoquent Style?

I love putting outfits together, and finding affordable pieces that look high end. I was doing personal shopping for friends and family members for a few years, and decided I needed a creative outlet to share my style choices with others… So, with that, Elleoquent Style was born.

Have you always had a passion for style and fashion?

Yes! Always! When I was little I loved to sew costumes for my sisters to wear so we could put on plays. I had a huge dress up collection, and loved taking my mom’s hand-me-downs and re-creating them into something new.

How would you describe your personal style?

My personal style is very much all about mixing high end and low end items. I believe in splurging on designer bags and shoes, and finding more affordable clothing. I believe if the accessories are high-end, the entire outfit will look expensive when put together the right way.

What are the trends that you are currently coveting?  Do you think you’ll love them next year?

My favorite trends right now would have to be tops with ruffles and fitted boyfriend jeans! I love really girly, flirty tops, especially in a great print. Paired with boyfriend jeans, it adds an edgy factor. I think these trends will stick around for a while!

If you had to start your wardrobe from scratch, what 5 things would you go and buy straight away?

A white button up blouse, a really good fitting pair of light wash skinny jeans, a floral printed blouse, a black BF blazer, and a large designer tote bag (My favorite investment is the Celine Micro luggage).

What do you pack for vacation?

I make sure to plan an outfit for each day and another for each night of a vacation. I make sure to bring lots of shoes that would pair with different looks. I always work with a color palette to make sure everything looks good together, and that way I can mix and match things if I change my mind on any of the outfits I put together previously!

What’s a place you wish to visit?

Greece!!! It looks so beautiful and I’ve been dying to go! That will be the next vacation my husband and I plan! The photo opportunities will be so amazing! I’m thinking bright colored maxi dresses, Kiini crochet bathing suits and embroidered cover ups!

If you could offer some words of encouragement to a newbie or frustrated fashion blogger, what would they be?

I know it sounds cliché, but stay true to yourself and your personal style, and don’t compare yourself to other bloggers. There will always be someone who is ahead of you, and you should just use that as motivation to be better, rather than let it discourage you.
