It was announced today that Riccardo Tisci is officially out as the creative director for Givenchy. The red-carpet favorite held the role at Givenchy for the past 12 years. Givenchy has yet to name a replacement so there is a question as to whether Tisci was pushed out or if he left on his own accord. Tisci released the following statement to WWD earlier today, “I have very special affection for the House of Givenchy and its beautiful teams. I want to thank the LVMH group and Monsieur Bernard Arnault for giving me the platform to express my creativity over the years. I now wish to focus on my personal interests and passions.”
It has been reported that Tisci will not present his fall 2017 collection at the upcoming Paris Fashion Week. His last presentation for the brand was unveiled on the runway last month at the 2017 men’s show. His famous couture gowns were a favorite among the A-list crowd including Beyoncé, Rooney Mara and Cate Blanchett just to name a few. He also famously designed Kim Kardashian’s wedding dress for her wedding with Kanye West.
No word on where Riccardo will end up, however there is buzzing that he could end up at Versace once the dust settles.
