Today Isis is kind enough to join us from London while maintaining her blog (  Between her blog and awesome Instagram (@thesmartfashionistas) she provides amazing fashion, food and lifestyle .  In-between doing that she lent us some time to answer questions about fashion trends she doesn’t enjoy, her favorite eateries and what’s in store for 2017.

When did your interest in fashion and beauty begin?

I have always been a fashionista, I remember as a little girl, I wanted to pick my outfits and would always try to match accessories, socks, shoes! When I was at uni in Paris, I used to do little jobs so I can buy myself a Gucci bag or a Joseph coat. Then I went into a finance career which allowed me to buy many beautiful things. I was always destined to work in fashion I think!

How do you stay up to date with the latest fashion and beauty trends?

I read magazines, watch fashion shows and pay attention to people in the streets!

Who really inspires you and why?

I was highly inspired by the 90s fashion, I used to read my mom’s fashion magazines, and loved the Vogue editorials in particular.  I don’t particularly follow trends and I always mix designer pieces with high street fashion.

What are some of the latest fashion trends you love?

I love the velvet and the over-the-knee boot trends.

What are some the latest fashion trends you can NOT stand?

I would say oversized pants…

If you could offer some words of encouragement to a newbie or frustrated fashion blogger/influencer, what would they be?

Persistence and hard work pay, it’s a long and tedious road to success, but NEVER give up!

Tell me about one item that you bought this year that you just can’t live without?

A Vintage Hermes bag.

You have over 150k Instagram followers. That’s amazing! How long did it take you to grow your following?

People always asked my where I bought my clothes and shoes so I started posting on Instagram  about three years ago, before I even quit my career in finance. Then I started using loads of hashtags, and posted regularly, the following grew naturally. I started blogging properly about 18 months ago and Instagram helped a lot in building my readership.

I see you are currently in London. What are you three favorite restaurants in London?

So many!  Roka, Coya, Sketch, Farmacy, Modern Pantry, Zuma, The Ivy…

What are your goals for 2017?

Keep doing what I am doing. I have so many exciting projects lined up for next year so my goal is to get them done properly and always remember to have fun!
