Coming to us from Denver today is Juli Bauer creator of the deliciously fabulous blog  paleOMG (paleomg.com).  Juli was kind enough to tell us about her unique mix of food and fashion, her 2017 goals and the best advice she ever received.  She’s grown her Instagram following to over 273K people so if you aren’t following her be sure you do it ASAP (@paleomg).  Her posts will leave your mouth watering and jealous of her awesome fashion sense!

How’d you get into food & fashion blogging?

After college, I began competing in CrossFit which made me look more into the nutrition side. Once I found out about the Paleo diet, I began cooking for myself and my friends and they asked if I would share my recipes online. So I started paleomg.com in 2011 which started out as strictly a recipe blog then grew into fitness, fashion, décor and beauty!

You 273k Instagram followers. That’s amazing! How did you grow your following?

It has just grown organically! I try to share many different things, multiple times a day so people constantly have something to look at on my instagram page.

What daily tools and platforms do you use in your blogging routine, for research, promotion, sharing and other?

I share my blog through wordpress then share every post through my social media outlets like instagram, facebook, twitter, and pinterest. Then I also record a podcast every week which is available on itunes.

Your food looks amazing. What’s your favorite recipe?

I have over 650 free recipes on my website plus 3 cookbooks that are filled with over 300+ recipes so that’s SO hard to choose from. But one of my all time favorites (since I’m a sugar lover) is my flourless chocolate cake from my most recent cookbook Juli Bauer’s Paleo Cookbook! It is absolutely divine!

How would you describe your personal style?

I would say my style is fun, easy, relatable, with a pop of spunk!

Do you prefer designer, vintage or highstreet?

I prefer highstreet but I have a hard time turning down a vintage dress!

Who is your favorite brand/designer?  Do you own any of their designs?

lululemon and zella for activewear (since that’s what I normally live in) and I find myself always going back to Express for all kinds of different clothes. It’s my go-to for street clothes or going out clothes!

What beauty products can’t you live without?

Vivant skincare. Their products have absolutely transformed my skin after dealing with cystic acne!

What is the best advice you have ever received and the best advice you have to give?

The best advice I was ever given is to go with your gut. I continue to do that and it’s never steered me wrong!

My best advice is to always stay positive. Whether it’s in your personal life, work life or even just in the gym. If you can remain positive even when life seems to be at it’s worse, it can only get better. A smile can truly change not only your door, but someone else’s!

What are your goals for 2017?

To continue to grow my blog. I don’t always know how I will do that, but I’m constantly working to grow and evolve it over time. And I also want to travel more this year!
