Happy weekend!  Today’s expert chat comes to us from one of our favorite cities – New York!  Dana Mannarino runs a phenomenal fashion, travel and lifestyle blog at  From there she gives us some of best outfits for all occasions and shares through Instagram (@pinkchampagneproblems).  She’s a great follow – always providing amazing tips in great places.  Read below and see how she started blogging, her favorite trend and designer!

How would you describe your personal style?

I love mixing classic pieces (a white button down, skinny jeans, ballet flats, etc.) with fun and edgy ones (suede moto jacket, sequins, feathers, etc.) I think combining the two areas really make for a cool and effortless look!

How’d you get into blogging?

I originally was recruited to start a blog through my college’s Admissions Office, where I worked at the time. I got paid like 8.75 an hour to create content about what it’s like to be a fashion student at Marymount University…..and then I started creating outfit posts.

What is the one essential item in your wardrobe you couldn’t live without?

Currently? I can’t really choose, so I’m cheating. My Levi’s distressed denim and an H&M cable knit sweater. Ask me again in a few months and I’m sure I’ll have a new answer 😉

Who is your fashion icon?

I’ve always been a HUGE fan of Jenna Lyons, the President/Executive Creative Director of J.Crew. Her ability to mix and match everything from stripes to sequins to menswear is truly inspiring!

How have you developed your style?

As a full-time Merchandiser, I’ve learned how important it is to make your wardrobe into a small collection. It’s great to get those really fun and different pieces, but at the end of the day, you’re always going to reach for your basic necessities. Lately, I’ve been investing more in that great pair of denim or those pointy toe pumps that I’ll wear for years and years!

What is your favorite outfit that you’ve worn, and why?

I’m actually a really simple dresser. Now that the weather is cool enough, I’ve been pulling out my cashmere pieces and wearing with everything from denim to skirts and dresses!

What beauty products can’t you live without?

NARS matte lip pencil, NARS blush, IT cosmetics bye bye under eye cream, IT cosmetics bye bye make up, and TULA moisturizer

What are the trends that you are currently coveting?  Do you think you’ll love them next year?

BOMBERS, BOMBERS, and more BOMBERS. I think they’ll always be somewhat “in style”, so yes, I’ll definitely love them next year!

Who is your favorite brand/designer?  Do you own any of their designs?

I LOVE Vince. Even though they’re very pricey, I love how classic and well-made their pieces are. I own a few blouses and cashmere pieces from them, but my dream is to own a camel coat from Vince!

Where do you hope fashion blogging will take you in the future?

You know what? I’m not really sure. I can’t see myself doing this full time because I love my career path. But I LOVE being a fashion blogger. All I can hope for is that blogging will continue to keep my creative juices flowing and keep on helping to inspire women when it comes to the clothes they wear!
