This morning we are joined by another beautiful Dutch woman, Floortje van Cooten. Floortje shows off amazing style and beauty on her site and Instagram. She’s been blogging for almost six years and is a great reference for how to do it right! Check her out and make sure to follow her! It’s well worth it!
When did you started Floortjeloves and what made you decide to get into fashion blogging?
I started my blog back in 2011 as a personal dairy. I come from the country side of The Netherlands where nobody was really into fashion. I needed a place to share my passion, so I started my blog. By the years, it grew into what it is now
How would you describe your personal style?
I am a real chameleon when it comes to my personal style. I love to go bold with prints, but love my classic look as well. From boyish to streetstyle, I like it all
How have you developed your style over time?
It’s still developing and I think this never ends. I love to play with fashion and try out new things to see what works and what doesn’t
How do you stay current with what’s new or in style at the moment?
Of course, I check out other blogs and social channels to stay up to date and get inspired. I watch the shows from fashion week when I am not attending them and I go on Pinterest for streetstyle inspirations. But above all I think you should stick with your style and shouldn’t copy a trend because it’s hot. Only wear it when it fits your style
Tell me about one item that you bought this year that you just can’t live without?
Pfoe… I think it will be my little Mulberry wallet on a chain. Just because it’s very subtle, fits every outfit and is super easy in use
What’s the most important to you in choosing an outfit for the day?
My mood. When I wake up I decide which Floortje I want to be today. A fashion darling or the cool girl
What’s your favorite social platform and why?
Definitely Instagram. I have the biggest audience there and it’s the best way to inspire and reach out to new people
What daily tools and platforms do you use in your blogging routine, for research, promotion, sharing and other?
Of course, I promote a new blogpost on my Instagram, Facebook and Twitter. I am subscribed to Bloglovin’ with daily emails about cool articles. They often inspire me to write about a subject. I have my little book with all sorts of article ideas and search on the web for more info if necessary.
What are your 5 essential travel items?
An extra charger, a warm weather for in the plane or car, a good moisturizer for a dry skin, some masks for extra skincare and headphones
What are your goals for 2017?
To travel more with my blog. I try/want to travel at least one time a month, so let’s see if this will work out
