When did you decide to become a beauty and fashion blogger?
I actually started blogging when I found out I was pregnant. I wanted to capture every moment of this life changing experience of becoming a mom. When I quit working full time as a fashion manager to be home with my son was born I began adding fashion and beauty so I could continue pursuing my love for fashion, from there my blog has evolved to becoming more than just a mommy blog but a fashion and fitness blog.
How would you describe your personal style?
I would describe my personal style as unique, colorful, and comfortable. I love trying new things. Vibrant colors makes me happy, and it is a big plus when it is comfortable and functional. As a mom comfort is key when chasing a very active toddler everywhere.
How do you stay current with what’s new or in style at the moment?
I love getting inspiration from fashion magazines, Instagram, and Pinterest.
What are some of the latest fashion trends you love?
Bell sleeves, fashion sneakers, destructed jeans, oversized sweaters, mirrored sunnies, and lace bralettes are some of my favorite trends lately.
If you could give one piece of style advice, what would it be?
Be original. If you want to stand out and get noticed by other brands or bloggers, don’t do something someone already just did, be different, be unique. I think the most irritating thing as a blogger is seeing bloggers copy bloggers. It is different when you get an inspiration from each other, but when you copy the same looks down to the exact same items and try to pass it off as your own style, I think you loose credibility from your audience.
How do you stay so fit? Any tips?
The one thing that keeps me fit is my son. He keeps me on my toes. He always wants to be outside playing, or at a park, or jungle gym. I encourage mothers to be a kid again and have fun with your kiddo. Take mommy and me workout classes together, join a gym with a child care area where you both can get your exercise.
What’s your favorite thing to do in Houston?
I love to try new restaurants and brunch spots with my blogger babes! Houston seriously has the best melting pot when it comes to food. There are so many amazing restaurants to try out!
What advice would you give those other moms trying to balance it all?
Take it day by day, and give yourself some grace. Life is not perfect. One day we might have it and the other day it might be sh*t show (excuse my language). Don’t compare yourself to anyone on social media. Half of it is staged anyways. Do what works for you and your family, even if it isn’t what everyone else is doing.
