Today we were truly fortunate to visit with a star! Lu Ferreira started Chata de la Galocha way back in 2007 – back when the internet was a baby! Her sense of style, food and all lifestyle things have resulted in a tremendous amount of success! Take a read through her interview than dive further into her site and Instagram to get a true feel for her style!
When did your interest in fashion and beauty begin?
I learned from my mother to take good care of my skin. She took me to a dermatologist when I was around 12 and I loved it from the very first day. My mom isn’t so into makeup, but I always liked it. I started getting interested when I was a teen. As for fashion, I think it was when I started reading teen magazines, when I was around 12. I loved a magazine we had here in Brazil called Capricho – every teen girl did. I started noticing the brands on the editorials and became interested on trends, designers and everything else.
When you were a kid, what did you want to be?
An architect. I ended up graduating in Graphic Design.
How would you describe your personal style?
Elegant, feminine and urban.
Do you prefer designer, vintage or highstreet?
Highstreet, with designer accessories.
Where are three of your favorite places to shop?
I love Topshop, COS and the Farfetch website.
How do you stay current with what’s new or in style at the moment?
I think Instagram has become the best place to check out new trends. I love watching how different people wear things and always look at my feed to find inspiration.
Current favorite item in your wardrobe?
My Elyse shoes by Stella McCartney. Still obsessed!
What are the trends that you are currently coveting? Do you think you’ll love them next year?
All I can wear right now are oxford shoes and sneakers. I love how they became a trend over the last few years and that way I can find lots of different ones. I don’t think I’ll get over them anytime soon =)
What advice would you give those moms trying to balance it all?
Don’t. Find what’s really important and focus on that. You have to have priorities.
What are your goals for Chata De Galocha in 2017?
I’m really focused on the book that will celebrate our 10th anniversary. It will be released in June and I can’t wait! We also are getting a new look, with a new logo, website and everything else.
