From one fashion hub to another!  Freelance journalist and fashion blogger Emma Bonneaud was awesome enough to answer some questions.  She gave us some style advice, modeling advice and talked about her goals.  Be sure to check her site and Instagram out as soon as you have a chance.

How’d you get into fashion blogging?

I started when I was about 17, I was doing pictures in my garden with my brother because I was reading some emerging fashion blogs like Betty’s Blog and I loved her work. It is really this blog that gave me the inspiration to start mine, because of this special thing that made dreaming while being very professional.

How would you describe your personal style?

I think that I don’t have any particular style. I am more about dressing up with favorite pieces, “coups de coeur” we can say.

But in order to put words on this, I could say that my style is rather classy, vintage, a bit casual and minimalist.

If you could give one piece of style advice, what would it be?

It depends of each person style, but to me there is a basic rule: do not mix the patterns.

Who is your fashion icon?

Alexa Chung without any hesitation! I also love the Holsen sisters, many foreign bloggers such as OhhCouture, Chiara Ferragni, Aimee Song (Song of Style), Camille Charrière, …

How do you avoid awkward poses while shooting? You seem so natural in all your photos!

Oh thank you! I don’t know, maybe it is the experience. Initially It was not so easy to stay natural, but more and more pictures you do, more and more self-confidence and experience you get.

How many looks do you shoot in a single day?

It depends! I have another work next to my blog so generally I take some time during my lunch break to prepare an outfit or to take a few pictures. Otherwise, I shoot during the week end, generally about one outfit by day but sometimes I do a lot of shoots of in advance.

What is your favorite outfit that you’ve worn recently, and why?

At the moment I love mixing different materials. I love wearing long coats or furs, with some vinyl skirts for example. I also like boots with a transparent heel and to finalize the perfect outfit: a classy hat.

Do you prefer designer, vintage or highstreet?

Hum, very good question! I think I am attracted by the three of us, but I would say Vintage!

Who is your favorite brand/designer?  Do you own any of their designs?

I am in love with the brand « Céline », I love the cuts, the materials, the colors and the brand identity. For me it is a perfect brand.

I also love “Chloé”, “Chanel, “Clothes” and “Moschino”… I have a Moschino bag, but for the rest I do not have enough budget at the moment.

Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years? 10 years?

In 5 years, I see myself in Paris, in fact I love this city. I hope that my blog will have progressed well but I also want to keep my freelance activities for various brands as a redactor or communication manager.

In 10 years…abroad I hope! London, Amsterdam, Berlin, Los Angeles…I have a crush for these cities.
