We promise it will be worth it!
How’d you get into fashion & style blogging?
First of all, thank you for this interview. I started my first blog on Polyvore 3 years ago, and soon I realized that I would like to have my own creative outlet to share my passion for fashion and style with the rest of the world. Most of the people I know and my friends, have always complimenting my style and asking me for shopping and styling advice, which I was always more than happy to give. After a year and two months of blogging, I can say I am pretty happy with this decision and so thankful that this creative outlet is turning into a business and reaches and inspires more and more readers every day.
Have you always had a passion for style and fashion?
I still remember myself preparing my outfit for the next day at school, and how opinionated I was about what I am going to wear, back when I was 4-5 years old, so I guess I would say YES! J
How would you describe your personal style?
I would say casual chic with a touch of quirky.
Who is your fashion icon?
I am really inspired by French women in fashion, among so many other things. From Coco Chanel to Marion Cotillard, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Melanie Laurent, and every-day street style stars, these women know how to be effortless, what they like and what they don’t like.
What is the one essential item in your wardrobe you couldn’t live without?
My Chanel boy bag. A statement bag in itself, and a great investment as it can style up any casual look, it is timeless and ultimately chic and goes with everything.
How do you stay current with what’s new or in style at the moment?
I read so many blogs that it is hard not to stay current. J I also love watching the upcoming collections of my favorite fashion houses during Fashion Week, that’s a great way to see early in advance what’s coming up next and start preparing. Having said that, I am only on board with trends that I already implement on my style and suit my personality and attitude. I love experimenting but I would never wear something that’s not me, just because it’s super-hot right now.
What is your favorite social platform and why?
I really like Instagram because it gives you the chance to present a curated profile with your best photos, and at the same time you can share more personal moments and non-curated photos and videos live, with the relatively new feature of Instagram stories.
What beauty products can’t you live without?
My Chanel red lipstick, brow brush/pencil and face moisturizer. During no makeup days, this is my triptych of success.
What’s your favorite thing to do in Mykonos?
There are so many beautiful things to do in Mykonos! Surprisingly for me it’s my job. When you live and work in the tourism industry of one of the most well-known and cosmopolitan destinations in the world like Mykonos, there are not many things left to do, but for me that’s great. I love welcoming people from all over the world to our beautiful villas and yachts, and make the best to provide them the vacations of their dreams. What’s more, I get to meet amazing people and I am so happy that many of these guests become lifetime friends. At the end of the day, I love to relax and unwind by watching a magical Aegean sunset and having a nice cocktail.
If you could give one piece of style advice, what would it be?
For me, proper fit is the key to a great style, so it’s important to know what suits you according to your body type, which styles compliment you and which don’t. And of course, a good decluttering to your wardrobe is the first big step, for creating a fully wearable capsule wardrobe of must-have essentials. And then you work on adding more statement items. Your style should reflect your attitude and personality.
