Sister-to-Sister – A Chat with the ladies at BluHazl

Today we’re joined by the beautiful sisters at BluHazl.  Laticia and D’Ana run an amazing site and Instagram.  Between they’re unique styles and great nutrition, fitness and life advice their blog is the perfect find.  Read below to see who their icons are, their wardrobe staples and goals for 2017!

When did you launch your blog? And what inspired you to work together?

We launched our blog,, in October 2015. My sister and I have always been very close, and we wanted to create something together. People would always comment on our relationship, or would say, “I wish I had a sister,” so we wanted to create a space where women could come and feel apart of something through our passions such as health and wellness, travel, style, and inspiration.

What inspires your style?

Our style is inspired by our youth, our travels, and our family. We never forget where we came from, and I think that speaks through our mixing of no name brands with designer brands. Our family was raised on strong morals and values and we carry those values with us daily. In addition, the more we travel this beautiful world, the more our style is inspired by everything around us.

Do you girls prefer designer, vintage or highstreet?

We definitely prefer a mix of designer and vintage, but D’Ana is totally street fashion. She nails it every time.

Who is your fashion icon?

Our fashion icon is definitely our father.  Growing up on Marshalls and TJ Maxx (which we still shop today) our dad would always came out the store with a fly pair of shoes and a dope fit.

What’s it like to work with your sister? Do your opinions on style differ?

Working with each other is a blessing and a curse, lol. We often times agree on things, but we totally disagree on a lot of things as well. Our style is very different, and at times very similar so at times it’s a tug of war situation. But at the end of the day, working with each other and building a dope brand we both believe is the best feeling ever.

If you both had to start your wardrobe from scratch, what 5 things would you go and buy straight away?

5 things we would be straight away would be a pair of pumps from aquazurra, some classic Adidas sneakers, a long faux fur vest, a large leather travel bag, and a simple t-shirt dress.

What’s most important to you in choosing an outfit for the day?

Weather! Living in Boston and Atlanta, you never know what the weather is going to be like, so the weather totally dictates our outfit for the day. We both are not fans of the cold weather.

How do you stay up to date with the latest fashion and beauty trends?

We stay up to date with the latest trends by social media. Social media is such a huge source of inspiration and trends.

How have you girls developed your style?

We’ve developed our style over the years through style and growth.  As you grow, you tend to find your own individuality and tend not to worry about what others think of you. Once you discover who you are, your style blooms with you.

What are your goals for BluHazl in 2017?

Our goal for BluHazl in 2017 is to build a strong community of strong and supportive women. We passionately believe in sisterhood and our goal is to redefine relationships among women and to build a total bad-ass girl gang where we all love, inspire and support one another.

  1. I am very proud of both of you girls, your whole family really. Al and Nancy are role models for any parents to follow. I wish you all the very best, I know all of you can succeed in anything you try to do.
