This morning we have the pleasure of talking to Natasha (Tasha) Callender from all the way across the pond! Natasha runs the great beauty blog The Fashion Saint (www.thefashionsaint.com) where she drops some of her favorite styles. Additionally, her Instagram (@the.fashion.saint) is a wonderful follow where we see awesome outfits and inspirational quotes. Tasha was generous enough to let us know where she finds inspiration, the latest trend she hates and her 2017 plans.
How’d you get into fashion blogging?
I had some spare time on my hands when I gave up a second job and thought what would keep me busy enough to fill the void? It was a no brainer that it would be something fashion orientated as cliché as it may sound I worship anything fashion.
What inspires your style?
People watching on the tube in London is a great way to get ideas about style, I like to think of it as my very own travelling fashion show. In addition social media, and celebrities have a big influence on my style.
How do you stay current with what’s new or in style at the moment?
London Fashion Week, and Magazines…lots of magazines.
What are some of the latest fashion trends you love?
Statement sleeves, leather, lace, Burgundy and nude pieces.
What are some the latest fashion trends you can NOT stand?
Hiking boots is a thing again but they really grind my gears. I think they look very cumbersome. They are definitely not for me.
Have you always had a passion for style and fashion?
As far back as I can remember, fashion and style was always something I loved. I’m a very creative person and fashion and style allowed me to be my very own ‘walk of art’ opposed to being restricted to a piece of paper.
I love your quotes on Instagram! How do you come up with those, and do you use any tools to make the images?
Ahh thanks so much. I can be quite witty and I like the quotes to be relatable, so they are usually something I have said as well as fashion icons that inspire me. I use a great app called Phonto for my quote creations.
Who is your favorite brand/designer? Do you own any of their designs?
Do I only get to pick one? Ahhh man that’s hard. I think my favourite would have to be ZARA which is a bit of cheat because their collections are inspired by a few of my favourite designers such as Gucci and Balmain. Majority of my wardrobe is from Zara I can’t believe I don’t own shares lol.
What beauty products can’t you live without?
NYX Soft Matte lipcream, Younique 3D Fibre Lash Mascara, YSL moisture glow and Nip
+ Fab glycolic scrub fix face wash.
What are your goals for The Fashion Saint in 2017?
I’m really looking forward to 2017, I have a few events that I’ve been hired for as the stylist, which is always good fun, and I really enjoy doing it. Hopefully that will bring more exciting opportunities. Secondly I’d like to launch my own T-Shirt brand. And my last is a bit outrageous but, I would love to go to NY fashion week that would be amazing.
