Today we have the amazing pleasure of talking to one of our favorite Instagram stars Heather (@_thefab3). Heather is a California girl with her own laid back style and we are more than certain you’ll enjoy reading our interview with her and she’s an absolute must follow on Instagram and Facebook!
How would you describe your personal style?
I am a laid back Cali girl… off-duty with a touch of high end. I don’t do too trendy and I am not a fan of looking like everyone else. I prefer casual cool; not that I don’t enjoy being on-duty, it’s just not realistic for every day.
Have you always had a passion for style and fashion?
I have worked in art & design since I can remember… it started with hair and makeup… clothes & shoes & than to home decor/design, so yes always!
Do you prefer designer, vintage or highstreet?
I will always go for vintage… things just are not made like they used to be and it is so much cooler to have things no one else can get their hands on. 😉
What are the trends that you are currently coveting? Do you think you’ll love them next year?
I love the borrowed-from-the-boys and of course anything off-the-shoulder. Oh, and the 90’s revival… I feel like that was when street style really came-to-be. I will always love the oversized look and off-the-shoulder anything.
Who is your favorite brand/designer? Do you own any of their designs?
All-time favorite designer would be Oscar De La Renta… I do not own a piece of his but a girl can dream can’t she?
Your pictures all have such a cool look and feel to them. What camera do you use, and what do you use to edit your photos?
I get asked this question so often… I am a self-shooter, so I take 99 percent of my photos you see… that’s right, I drag around a camera and stand and take my own shots. It is so worth it and on that note… I won’t tell you what I use to edit since I don’t like looking like everyone else I would like to keep it that way. 😉
I can tell you I use a small digital Canon camera and my iPhone.
You have 110k Instagram followers. That is amazing! How did you grow your following?
I think being true to myself and just sharing what I love, bits and pieces of my lifestyle without oversharing. I also try and connect with my followers, it is getting a little harder now that I have so many. 🙂
Who is your fashion icon?
Olivia Palermo … she nails it every time. She does not care how much something costs, she puts pieces together that are just effortless and I love that she knows how to rock a pair of flats and sneakers. I would be honored to have her put together a look for me.
What’s your favorite fashionable movie?
Breakfast at Tiffany’s hands down… Audrey… need I say more?
If you could give one piece of style advice, what would it be?
If you love something wear it. Just because there is a designer name on clothing or you are dressed head-to-toe in designer that does not translate into style. Style is being true to yourself, throwing caution to the wind…not looking like everyone else… establishing trends by not chasing them.
